EVANSVILLE, IN – JULY 10, 2020 – EXTEND GROUP partnered with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office to build and launch an enhanced mobile application for the Vanderburgh County Civic Center and Courts Building. The app serves as a vital tool for Civic Center employees and visitors to receive critical security and safety information.
Sheriff Wedding stated, “The Sheriff’s Office and our partners at the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Building Authority and Extend Group are pleased to make this app available both to the public and to the employees who work at the Civic Center and Courts Building.” Sheriff Wedding added, “With temporary courtrooms now located at the Old National Events Plaza, the need for a unifying public messaging platform has never been more needed.”
The updated security app features an upgraded push notification system that alerts subscribers to emergencies and important messages. This app ensures employees and visitors stay informed when an emergency takes place in and around the buildings, such as a severe weather alert or if an intruder enters the premise. Subscribers can easily call and connect to the Civic Center switchboard using the app. The app also provides Civic Center hours of operation as well as quick links to the city and county directories.
Officers of the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office as well as Civic Center designated personnel have the ability to submit an alert in seconds. This app provides notice of an emergency to employees, visitors, and all app subscribers even if they are not at the Civic Center. The ability to get information out and readily available is important in today’s society.
